Our last evening in Hong Kong would be spent at a farewell banquet at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel for those in the "yellow" group who had traveled with us since Beijing, but were now returning home. In reality the two groups did very little mingling, but we did get to know a couple of people from the "yellow" group and their tour escort, Fred. One of our group, Dick, from Denver, would also be returning home and not accompanying us to Bangkok. The pictures below are for those that traveled with us throughout China.

We were fortunate on this trip. All of the travelers were seasoned travelers and there really was very little whining and complaining the entire trip. We have fond memories of the group and would travel with them again in a heartbeat.

are seated on the right, 2nd and 3rd from the front: Bill and Maureen (Yellow Hat) from Ma.

The next morning we would all be boarding flights for different places. The Green Group, us, would be flying to Bangkok for the optional four-day extension to the tour, and the Yellow Group would be heading home. We would also be losing another of our group and that saddened us all. Mei, our tour escort since we arrived in Bangkok, would not be accompanying us to Bangkok. We would have to say our good-byes in Hong Kong and suffer the rest of the trip with a new tour escort in Bangkok. Unfortunately for the new tour escort she had a rather large set of shoes to fill because we all loved Mei so much and wished she was going with us.

Before heading off to Bangkok enjoy a few other shots taken along the way of members of the group:

To all our fellow travelers, we enjoyed traveling with you and formed many wonderful memories of our time together. Maybe one day we'll cross paths again in another far off and exotic location. We look forward to it.

Now, for those of us in the Green Group and you on the Internet, let's go to Bangkok ...
