For
whatever unknown reasons Anne and I have always had exceptional
luck in spotting some magnificent underwater life while diving at
Sunset House. In 1992 we were fortunate enough to view a resident
octopus several times, along with Fred (the friendly Nassau Grouper),
squid and a few Tarpon.
This
year we were equally fortunate. On one dive Anne spotted a nice
turtle that accommodated my photography quite well. On another she
spotted three good size Tarpon. All things considered, she did an
excellent job in the spotting department while I was busy taking
pictures.
When
Anne first spotted the turtle he was nibbling away at the coral
not far away. As soon as I approached he began to swim away. This
first picture (left) was taken just as I approached him. As he began
to swim away, upward toward the surface, I followed. It was a busy
time with having to adjust the light and aperture settings on the
camera, but I'm happy with the result.
