Our visit to Phuket would be a week long respite from the weary touring we'd done in Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Bangkok. A chance to rejuvenate the batteries and prepare ourselves for the last week in Japan. During the beginning of the week Anne, Ken, Darla and I went on several dive trips offered by Marina Divers of Phuket. We enjoyed the water, but by the fourth day we were ready to get out and take a look at the island. Ken, Darla, Derek and Rose made arrangements for a one day excursion to the island where one of the James Bond movies was shot. Anne and I decided to just hire a private car and tour Phuket Island. These pictures were taken during that tour. I should add, the entire day with a private car and driver was extremely inexpensive.

While shopping was not necessarily on our agenda our driver, as you might expect, had a few places that he recommended we stop. Having just celebrated Anne's birthday with no present in hand I thought we might find something she'd like, and we did. I also had a silk jacket custom made and was happy with both the price and quality of work
