This picture shows my grandfather, Harry, exactly as I remember him. Being his grandson I only knew him as the little old man shown in this picture. One of my most disappointing discoveries during my research on the family was that there were no pictures showing him as a young man. I had hoped so to locate one so I would know what he looked like as a young man, but I wasn't successful. I don't know what it would have meant to me if I had found one because, to me, he was always that "little old man," my grandfather: The best grandfather any child could have ever hoped for. He passed away in 1970 at age 84 and is buried with his wife, Eunice, at Beechwood Cemetery in his beloved Boykins, Va.
